In my household, the 32 Watt GE plug-in CFL is Made in Hungary; the Dremel Multi-Max blade is Made in Switzerland; the Dole Diced Peaches, Made in Thailand; the Texas Instruments scientific calculator, Made in Philippines; the Wrangler Rugged Wear jeans, Made in Mexico; the iPhone is Assembled in China; the Sony Television is Made in Japan, et cetera.

Since 1973, our country began a downward spiral to begin accommodating massive Asian distribution centers. It’s almost impossible to find anything made completely in the U.S.A. Little wonder why there is so much chaos—lack of gainful employment.

Sorry I didn't phrase that quite right. I didn't mean to say that you can't buy anything at all not Chinese made, but it's very very difficult if not impossible to buy NOTHING made in China.

The one vehicle that is made from ALL US parts in the US is a...Toyota pickup truck. Odd, huh.

I see that Caddylack is now importing from China.

You can safely disregard the opinion of GW8RDI in the matters of anything *uSDX related - and that page does not have an accurate synopsis, and is written by someone with a very large axe to grind.

The correct synopsis is actually on PE1NNZ's github: https://github.com/threeme3/usdx#readme

GW8RDI does not want to abide by the CC-BY-ND license for the (tr)uSDX , which is preventing Mr Colclough from distribution of his modifications to the firmware for that device, as is correct and exactly as desired by DL2MAN and PE1NNZ.
Mr Colclough is prefectly free to edit his copy of a firmware as much as he likes without restriction, and there's also no restriction in his installing it on his own example of a (tr)uSDX radio.
He also has the ability to give any changes he has made to PE1NNZ for possible inclusion in a future version of the (tr)uSDX if he so wanted to.

GW8RDI didn't seem to be able to understand that he's not allowed to distribute or make that firmware available to others in any way without the explicit permission of DL2MAN and PE1NNZ, or that he's not allowed to install his modified code on someone else's (tr)uSDX. He was apparently choosing to misunderstand exactly what the license meant, and threw his toys out of the pram when he was challenged on it. Note that GW8RDI is now apparently trying to threaten barratry at anyone and everyone that points out the mistakes that GW8RDI is making in that situation, and has tried unsuccessfully to use certain Facebook groups to poison the community - which isn't a great look for that person at all.

The history of the uSDX and clones is well known and well documented.

The current state is that DL2MAN owns the license for his design of the (tr)uSDX.
As PE1NNZ owns the original copyright for the *uSDX code tree, he can re-licence his own code as he sees fit for other projects. The licence on the uSDX code tree is not changed.
They have worked together to produce a design and product that is *exactly* in the ham spirit, as there are no restrictions on building the design either yourself or within a group buy, and you can modify whatever you want with it to your heart's content - as long as you do not distribute the modifications without the premission of the license and copyright holders - and that is absolutely fair.

DL2MAN is perfectly happy to take hardware improvement suggestions (best way is through the forum through his webpage), and PE1NNZ is perfectly happy to take suggestions and improvements to his code. Both are reasonable people.
