I don't know how accurate this is. I know there's been some speculation on the price.
Granted, I've most of the comments here.

If it's really going to be 1700. That's a hard pass, for a while.

Pretty sure that's just someone profiteering off preorder hype. But if true, it would be a ridiculous price.

Universal Radio is showing list price as $1433. “Your Price” T.B.A.

 

That is including shipping from Japan which will be the first batch released to Japan amateurs in May/June??, other Countries will follow in June/July, currently there is a delay as China who make parts for Icom are/were in lock down, I have several items from Icom which now state MADE in China (not assembled like it used to say). Currency rates are all over the place at present so prices will be.

I would hope so. Quite often they don’t discount much on the first lot. Then after that they might come down a bit more.

 

D-Star is fine, for what it is. I use a DVAP dongle w/ Pi-Star, and I can hit a ton of reflectors. It is really nice, though to connect with hams in the UK, Australia, etc. But all we're really doing is a hybrid of micro transmitting (maybe 10-20 feet) and VoIP.

My guess is less than the $1200 amount some people recently received into their bank accounts. If it is actually sold for under $1000, with whatever discounts, it would probably get more attention.

A few months back, Icom posted an MSRP on their website in Yen that was just under $1150 USD. Things have changed, so it is a guess now.

 

Since this is vapor ware for now, I'm not even going to consider it.

 

I bought the G90 from HRO today. OH8STN's initial look influenced me. Now I have to figure out the 8-pin plug in the rear as I have 6 pin plus in stock. Humm.

 

Your comment made me go to the HRO site thinking I may do that. Did not show under a search for Xiegu but did when searching on G-90. I was a bit surprised they carry it but indeed they do! FYI for others - stock in Denver and Milwaukee.
