I bet there is tons of equipment that is just sitting on shelves collecting dust that work fine but will never be used again. You can't take it with you. Of course there should be some type of needs assessment. And it sure would stink to see your hard earned donated equipment show up for sale on QRZ a week later.

 

I agree with both K7JOE and KA2K. These guys are trying to be helpful to new hams. I see many HF amplifiers offered for sale on QRZ and eBay where the owner says "I have more than one amp so I'm selling this one". We all have stuff in the closet that we will never use. Why not give it to someone who will use and appreciate it. Maybe it will help a new ham become more active. Just my two cents.
