Spark Plug Antenna: setup and first try

i had to buy another tool just for this.
my strippers only went down to 20 gauge, soooo i had to go allllllllll the way to
home depot to get another pair.

that sure is fine wire. i saw one stripper (don't start) that went to 32 gauge.
i think that is for wiring heart transplants or something.

the good news is it satisfied my tool craving for a while.

i chose grey for blending in with overcast and winter tree trunks.
come spring maybe i'll get green.

The typical impedance at the end of a half-wave antenna is about 3000 ohms. The balun makes perfect sense here because it is attempting to match to a 50 ohm coax and radio.
