Thanks, but you knew my call sign. If I’m searching for new content, that won’t help me. I can successfully search for content by call sign, just “no results” from all general searches. It used to work fine. No idea what changed. Quotations don’t change the results. I wish it did.

Reality is though, their hands are tied.

Xenforo search function is known to be ummm... garbage.

And QRZ didn't write the software, they are consumers as we are in this case. It's just software they run, along with tens of thousands of other BBS groups.

The Google search can be used

but this also pulls out every instance of the string, mostly member pages.

 

Then why don't they completely remove the function???

Better yet, why isn't this a sticky instead of everyone wasting their time? Come on guys, is that too much to ask?

Granted there are better search engines, but good results can easily be obtained with just a little thought and practice. It wasn't clear but it looked like the OP was looking for Ten Tec Century 21 ads. That's actually quite easy to do. Go where the ads are, Ham Radio Gear For Sale, and enter the largest word, Century, in the search box. Check the box for Search titles only, and note the box for Search this forum only is already checked. Try it. I just did and got 25 listing for the Ten Tec Century 21. That approach can be used to find the item in any forum or the entire site.
