No need to back up local log books. Amazon is a cloud infrastructure service that is spread across many servers and regions. I guess for personal logs you may want to locally back up, but I'd be surprised if QRZ could not recover from a disaster.

The beauty of the QRZ logbook is it honors QSL's from LoTW even if the other OP doesnt use the QRZ logbook. Nice.

Good morning all. The QRZ Logbook upgrade process ran smoothly last night and it continues this morning. No data has been lost, however, there is a LOT of data, over 280M QSO's that are being reloaded into the new server. This process cannot be hurried. Once the load procedure starts, there is nothing to do but wait.

The process is tedious to watch because there is no indication as to how far along it might be. From our experience, however, we can see that it is healthy and that it is proceeding at a steady pace.

We would love to give a precise estimate as to when the load will be complete, but we'd be lying to you. Our best guess is that it will take another 24 hours to complete the task. If this changes, we'll post an announcement here as news develops.

The good news is that the other systems at QRZ are in perfect health and are operating faster than ever before. We expect the new Logbook server to perform similarly.

We are sorry that many are disappointed about the outage, and we wish to reiterate that we're putting a 100% effort into getting the system back up and running just as soon as possible.

But DO GET THE N3FJP running soon!!! You can very easily upload directly from N3FJP to both QRZ and LoTW. I also suggest you establish a "cloud based storage" for the primary N3FJP file (I use my Dropbox account). That way if your local computer dies, your file is intact. In addition, you can view your log data from ANY computer that you install N3FJP software

I like to upload to QRZ first to view and, if corrections/edits are desired, I make them there first. Once uploaded to LoTW, no edits are allowed. Well, not that my research could find anyway.

That is, I consider QRZ my log safety net and my "are you sure" log spot.

Love the QRZ Logbook service.

Agreed about the error checking. I use HRD logbook for error checking before uploading to LoTW.

Really?? I have brought up LoTW on many occasions just to edit, and never had any issues (YMMV)...and I learned a long time ago to save/backup HTML coding for my Bio (here) and I have a setup that automatically send my log info to a Cloud and to Google Drive...for ALL my logging (HRD, Clublog, etc.). I have not lost ONE QSO yet *knocks on wood*...my head LOL). Best 73 Fred & Co. and ALWAYS appreciate this service! Mr. Carl de NØCEL
