Ahh, I am sure Fred can't do it all on his own; but I give Kudos to the whole team on how its gone so far. Really have any of the complainers ever seen how a real corporate migration goes and all the pain that suffers with it?

I had an Oracle RAC system take 30 hours to restore when it was brought back up.

 

Yeah, the expectations among some seem to be way out of sync with reality. How many of those complaining would be willing to pay a subscription fee over many years just to have a faster upgrade once in a while? I’ll bet none.

It’s ham radio logging folks, not your bank account or IRA. And the data is not lost.

None of my four logbooks come up (current and previous call, plus two /portable DX locations).

Mine is back, working quickly.

 

I have really noticed the MUCH FASTER lookup time when I type in someone's call sign. That is really appreciated on my end. Also, just faster overall response on the whole site.
As far as logging, I won't complain, I have just temporarily switched back to the tried and true P&P* logging system for the few contacts I have made this weekend, and will transfer them to the site when it comes back. No worries, no stress.

*P&P logging system = = "Pencil and Paper". Ask your elmer about it. Easy editing, no crashing, no re-boots, withstands most (but not all) coffee spills, and solder splatter. Inexpensive. A 7 year-old can operate it. So can a 107 year old.
