I have to reject your idea that there are no contacts being made., I am active on HF daily. As the day progresses some bands fade out and others pickup.
The bands are active this weekend with several contests.
There is a web site that shows realtime contacts being made by showing lines between the two stations and if you hover over a station you get their call and location.
You can see this for free. It is interesting to watch how the bands progress as the day progresses. Turn on the Grey Line for additional info.

You cannot argue with anyone who thinks "The Science is settled" Science is never settled because if one believes it is they are practicing religion instead.

There is so much evidence in the magnetic field declines today trying to argue it is futile as the people your arguing with. I think the rush on to renumber runways is the need to align them with Hogworts over time.

 

My personal thoughts about Davidson is he is going off the rails because so many treat him like the messiah. But a few facts remain like they have been published and cited multiple times in respected journal's. Much of what they are saying is sound. My issue is his trying to put a time frame on it and telling people to move to certain locations. That is annoying as all get out.

Your gaslighting serves no real purpose other to say you believe anything so called authority tells you. Far better to listen to all sides and make a rational decision than do the Snopes dance to reinforce your lack of understanding the subject matter material's.

 

You really believe that and say it openly? OK, Magnetic fields play a substantial part in weather and it's changes. Again published science with NASA and The ESA publishing on it among many leading Academics. Do some home work soon please. And probably look into Greta's family tree and those around her. It is very enlightening but no one dares say it.

Yes. Will be an interesting time upcoming as the cycle improves and the magnetic field declines. Fortunately with molten iron core, Earth will always have a magnetic field. If we didn't we'd be like Mars and eventually the solar radiation would disintegrate our atmosphere.

 

A big coil with some current running through it should do the trick

Abstraction
Earth’s magnetic field shields life on Earth from the harmful solar wind. However, its origin is not well understood. The dynamo theory is usually employed to explain the origin. However, it cannot account for the magnetic fields on other planets, especially those with cooled cores. In light of new understandings of superconductivity, a new hypothesis is proposed in this study to provide a general mechanism for the origin of planetary magnetic fields. The “unified theory of low and high-temperature superconductivity” suggests that superconductors are the ordinary state of matter and are common at high pressures.
As pressure increases deep into Earth, superconducting substances likely exist under the mantle. Driven by the rotation of Earth, the floating superconductors on the outer core accumulate towards the equator and eventually assemble into a belt looping around the core under the equator, producing a resistance-free path for currents. Earth's magnetic field was created by a Mesnner-like effect in the Sun’s magnetic field. The field compensates Sun’s field inside and superimposes it outside of Earth.
Without electrical resistance in the superconductor belt, currents loop indefinitely under the equator, maintaining the geomagnetic field. Convections in the outer core disturb the loop and occasionally break its continuity, causing polar wandering and paleomagnetism discontinuity. As the loop resamples each time, the polarity of the new field may be created in a different direction depending on whether the north or south pole is tilted towards the Sun at different seasons, resulting in a magnetic reversal. Superconductors may also be responsible for the magnetic origin of other planets. As planets cooled down, the superconductors froze inside the planets. Some might survive various celestial events throughout the planet's history, even with significant orbital changes, which explains the large angle and offset between the magnetic dipole and rotation axis of both Uranus and Neptune.
