This is almost tragically comical ..or comically tragic...don't know which.

    "
Federación de Radioaficionados de Cuba (FRC) will celebrate its 55th anniversary next July 15, 2021.

Although limited by the presence of COVID-19 and social distancing conditions, over 8 thousand Cuban radio amateurs will participate between July 12 and 18 in on-the-air events from their homes with the purpose of celebrating the 55 years of fruitful life of their organization. Within that framework, they will provide recognition to founders and veterans, and to other FRC members known for their work on the air.

It will be a good moment to hold themed meetings in VHF about the work of FRC as a IARU (International Amateur Radio Union) Member Society.

This does indeed border on political. The Cuban people have suffered at the hands of American supported regimes and policies AND under Communist associated regimes. My dad was Cuban. Unlike many Cuban immigrants he had a remarkably neutral and nuanced view of the politics, having seen first hand the oppression and disparities under Batista and the sugar barons. But had no rose colored glasses or illusions about the pain or (some) benefits under Castro.
My point only is that I would like to see some credible evidence about claims the QRM arises from the Cuban State. It certainly might. Or not. No flame wars invited that will certainly shut down the thread, but real and credible information on the 40 M QRM welcome.

A whole lot, if the people of that county are of like mind and strong conviction. The complacency of the people will always lead to suffering. We shouldn't let this happen or we risk it's spread to us.

So when are the Gravy SEALs of Meal Team 6 headed south in their lime green emergency service safety vests, hard hats and HTs to sabotage these transmitters and save us?:D:p

This is a sham and a slap in the face of the international radio community. These same people are shutting down all repeaters on the island of Cuba and Jamming long distance 40 communications. This is the typical double standard they have been preaching for 62 years.
Let's bring this out in the open. Please post your interference findings here and try to make this the focus of the worldwide radio community.

One way we can respond, no matter what our personal political beliefs, is by continuing to do ham radio with Cuba. It sends the message that we care about the Cuban people.

This thread IS political. Having said that, your comments are spot on. Everyone convienently forgets about Batista, mob backed casinos and solid gold telephones. Thanks for your contribution.

In addition to ham radio, exchanges between Cubans and Americans revolving around music, baseball and health care have intermittently done some good for the people of both countries.

Is there is anyone on this thread who has been documenting the jamming in Cuba, lives in the western United States and would be willing to help bring awareness to the issue via interview with a national media outlet? Please e-mail me. I'm good through my profile here on QRZ.

I found it to be quite accurate if you know what you're doing.
