LOL yes I remember this joke from flight school, too!

It's tough for me now that I live in the south east. Flying in the summer is basically out... those afternoon t-storms... every... single... day... hah

No offense Ladies, but for Brian to make a FLIGHT like he's attempting he's proven to everybody he has the proverbial "BRASS BALLS"!!! And since it's a "FLIGHT OF A LIFETIME" MORE POWER TO HIM!!! Like flying from "OAK" to Honolulu a few years ago on a commercial flight there's absolutely NOTHING EXCEPT WATER and once you're pass the "Point-of-no-return" your messed up if something goes WRONG!!!

    INCREDIBLE!!! :)

Brian has my utmost respect as that is something I wouldnt have the cojones to do at any age and my first flight was in a WW2 surplus seaplane when I was 15-16 that a friends dad owned.

And I thought going from GITMO to Andrews AFB in a Navy R4D, aka DC-3 in 61 was interesting especially when it wasnt pressurized when we had to detour out over the ocean and climb to get over the lower part of the T storm cells.

Since then Ive been on nonstop commercial flights from NY or Boston to Tokyo, Johannesburg, and recently Istanbul. Also Tokyo to Singapore. The all water flight from Sydney to Honolulu in a 747 over half packed with private secondary (Jr HS in the US) students was an experience as many were on the verge of panic.

You, do, mean Sunday, "30" July, Bonnie?

Just wondering: is Brian somehow related to Our
    Fearless Leader, Fred-AA7BQ, by chance?

    ;)

In England Amy Johnson was similar to Amelia in her exploits, I come from Hull her birthplace. The Pacific is such a vast and varied ocean and I envy anyone able to fly such vast distances. Had I been on your flight path I would have dearly loved to had made a qso,
