Having a challenge getting my WW2 J36 key working. Cannot get a tone from paddles when hooked up to radio. I get a tone if the sliding bar touches the power terminal but not if I try to key. Some corrosion that I will clean up but thought there would be some connectivity. Thoughts?

Check for continuity with an ohmmeter.

Thanks all. I took it apart (took photos before hand) and rechecked with ohm meter after reassembly. Works! Next step is to adjust the dits and dahs.
