That is, sadly, so true. If more people were aware and respectful of differing beliefs, the world would be a better place. Amateur radio provides an excellent medium for helping to close that divide and uniting folks through a common passion.

Almost all the Jewish holidays have a foundation found in the old Testament. Not hard to find the basis for the beliefs;-)

Although not Jewish I know the Jewish Folk in Hawaii greet each other with the word Shaloha ie a combination of Shalom and Aloha

One of my wife's professors and thesis advisors, who is Jewish (we are not), with whom we became friends following her graduation from grad school, gave us this plaque. Apparently, this the way shalom is said in southern IL. hi

Christians might know this holiday as "Feast of Booths".

 

Religious Jews do not operate electronic gear on most of these holidays. The intermediate days of Sukkot are a great time for this outdoor activity.
