They have a great public golf course on Kauai.
But, it you like to eat out at nice restaurants, I'd suggest you live elsewhere.

A TV station I worked for hired a guy with the kind of insane educational background required for this position. He couldn't figure out how to use a screwdriver and asked "What's that light for inside the HV cabinet" to which I answered---"it's a tube".

With the qualifications listed and the pay rate, this may well be hard to fill.

Thanks to the OP for flagging the job posting.

Maybe they figure that part of the pay is the perk of getting to work on the beach in Hawaii. I would find it difficult to head back into the office after lunch.

LOL! I worked with a PhD or two that missed the 'experience' portion of their chosen career. I've also met PhD's who really know their stuff.

Not sure how a PhD is really helpful in a station engineer role. But I appreciate that the government equates years of study to pay rate.

It would take that beauty to offset what for me would be a bit of a boring job. I listen to WWV from time to time but not 8 hours a day. Yes, it's got a beat but I'm not sure you can dance to it.

A few years back, I was visiting Kauai with my family, and we took a boat ride to see the NaPali coast, with its spinner dolphins and such. The boat departed from Kekaha, and went right past the WWVH transmitter site. Our boat's PA system was receiving WWVH loud and clear for about ten minutes, despite nothing in the PA system being an intentional radio receiver.

My watch was correctly synchronized for the rest of the trip.

That would be such a fun job. I'd apply myself, but I like Alaska.

What I remember about Kauai is the humidity. I went to the post office to ship some stuff home. While I was there, I bought a roll of stamps. Two days later that roll of stamps had turned into a rock.
