ARRL is pleased to congratulate Limor “Lady Ada” Fried, AC2SN, on her induction into the CQ Amateur Radio Hall of Fame!


Ada Limor is the founder of AdaFruit Industries which, produces #Arduino, #RaspberryPi, and other #DIY electronics.


She was named as one of “The Top 25 Most Influential Women” by the Internet of Things Institute.

Hey, she is a lot better to look at then some of the pork chops in ham radio.

 

I agree that is why I do not have a picture of myself on QRZ and at least she still has hair

 

Never mind the colour of the hair. She will do for me

 

My point was not to stereotype the sexist male assessment of a woman by her looks, but the innate meritocracy of a person's accomplishments.

Having said that, we know that some male hams haven't been out much in the real world and this hair thing of 'colors not found in nature' reverts them back to the days of Quualudes, punk music, and Adam Ant.

Just hang in an airport for an hour and you will see such hair coloring is common and fashionable. Knocking it is kinda silly, given that reality.

Don't look at her picture; look at her product line.

i very rarely comment on qrz because i dont want to receive nasty pm's for the next 5 years....

i dont think commenting on her hair is sexist , i think people would also comment if a man had green hair and a nail in their lip .

also im NOT envious one bit, more power to her but what has she done to be worthy of becoming a member of cq amateur radio hall of fame ?

but does she even operate ? has she designed a new type of aerial or elmered etc all her work seems to be internet related

cq can do what they wish and honor those they seem worthy but all the other awardees had something to do with their work with or in amateur radio

Adafruit has been very influential in reviving electronics DIY, not just in radio too.
