I moved to Michigan in April of 2023 and set up my station at my new QTH.

I changed my address everywhere EXCEPT on the QRZ Logbook Properties page. I have a significant number of QSO's logged in QRZ that still have my old QTH in each contact.

Is there any way a user can bulk edit QSO's for a specific date range so that the proper address can be shown on each QSO??

    Thank You,

Not easily through the site. I'd suggest create a filter that will get you the qsos that need edit. By date for example. Export to ADIF with the filter in place. ADIF is a text file you can edit with any number of text editors. Before you make any changes, save a copy of the unmodified ADIF somewhere safe. Then, search and replace your address info in the ADIF and then import the updated contacts.

Thanks for the reply. I'm running into this issue too. I didn't realize my log location wasn't automatically updated when my profile address changed (via FCC). I have hundreds of contacts I need to update as well.

    Hi Steve,

I tried this method to update several fields, but on import the "duplicate" records are ignored. I have several hundred records to correct, how can I accomplish this sort of bulk update?

    Respectfully,

    Hey Chris,
Did you actually check the records you modified? I realize the naming isn't optimal, but looking at the report of your last attempted import, I see that 249 records were updated. 281 records were identical and ignored, but those marked "Dupes" were matched with records and updated.

I did :/ I'm trying to update the CQ and ITU zones, city, and state for these records.

To be certain, I tested two cases, one for confirmed records and another for unconfirmed records. SE3X (a confirmed one, for the worst case) I manually corrected the the CQ and ITU zones, and then reimported. Because the record is confirmed, the import is ignored, as explained in the import report. Which is still problematic, because the CQ and ITU zones definitely need correcting.

For the second case, VE7WCC, it is labelled as a dupe, but neither the ITU, CQ, or even the comments are updated, the record:

Edit: It looks like the VE7WCC record did update, it just took a little. But the issue remains with confirmed records. Please... please don't make me have to edit some ~300-400 records by hand.

    Please.

Bringing this thread back to life as I'm running into the same issue as @N8YEL and @KO4KGA, trying to correct my city on multiple confirmed QSOs. Has anyone found a solution for this, or does it have to be done manually for each QSO? I only have to update the city name, not the county, state, zones, or anything else and they aren't getting imported as my QRZ logbook is seeing them as dupes.

Be careful of the terminology. A "dupe" as it's indicated in the import is a record that matched, but was updated. IGNORED is one that matched but was unchanged.

Also keep in mind, as @KO4KGA discovered, it can take a moment for the updated record to be visible in your logbook because of caching. If you want to be sure a record was updated as expected, open the QSO in the logbook view and select the clear cache button at the top. This will force the QSO to be reloaded from the database.

And, unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done about confirmed QSOs. They have to be manually edited. The confirmation system is complex and there are just too many variables for bulk editing on confirmed QSOs to be an option at this point.

This thread might old but I'm guessing a repeated issue. I like the first steps suggested by KF8KI, export an adif of the QSOs by dates needing correction. Save untouched ADIF, use 'saved as' copy to make all corrections. But then I'm suggesting that the dates in the QRZ logbook first be deleted, therefore all the uncorrected QSOs, then import the corrected ADIF. I might be missing something here but doesn't that mean when the corrected ADIF is imported into my QRZ logbook that the duplication problem has been resolved because the original QSOs are no longer in the logbook? I'm in the process of trying to create order out of thousands of logs, some only recently rescued. I just read again the March 28 post from KF8KI, not exporting confirmed QSOs to correct in an ADIF definitely makes this a lot more complicated. I think I would still do a wholesale export of the dates & then for me it will be easier to delete the calls that have already been confirmed. In this case the log is 11 year old and confirmations are scattered. Thanks for any advice, Linda W1MP

The issue is not that confirmed QSOs cannot be exported to be corrected. It's that they cannot be reimported with the corrected information. Or, more accurately, they can be imported, but they will be ignored. If you choose to export them and then delete the incorrect ones from the logbook and then re-import the corrected ones, then yes, any issue with how duplicates are processed is irrelevant because the QSO doesn't exist any more. The uploaded replacement QSOs then have to go through the confirmation process again to restore any lost confirmations. QRZ only accepts it's own internal confirmation process and those downloaded directly to QRZ from LOTW. Note that it is not possible for a user to delete a confirmed QSO once it's been included in an award (shown by the checkmark on the confirmation symbol). Removing those QSOs requires staff intervention to remove awards and then remove those QSOs

Edited to add that while it may seem like a good answer to just delete and start over to make corrections, we recommend users avoid this approach unless absolutely necessary for several reasons. First, it puts additional load on the servers because of the sudden influx of additional QSOs needing reconfirmation in bulk. Second, once you have a confirmed QSO in the system, it is confirmed and stays that way regardless of what the other operator does with his QSO record. Each operator is at liberty to do whatever they want with their log. Since the delete/re-upload process requires that QSOs have to be confirmed again, you are at risk of loosing confirmations in the event that the matching QSO entry by the other operator is no longer in the system. Lastly, since most users worried about confirmations are participating in the awards process, often times the delete/re-upload process involves QSOs used towards awards. As noted above, once a QSO has been included in an award, it requires staff intervention to update. QRZ has over a million users and a small staff and we process dozens if not a hundred or more support tickets a day. We have limited time available to be assisting with QSOs that were incorrectly logged. Abuse of the service could prompt restrictions on our ability to help with such things.

I have been having a similar issue I use one logbook on QRZ, I use two primary QTHs. When I import my contacts from the FM29 QTH the county and city show up as Jupiter and Palm Beach which are correct for my other QTH in EL96. Only those two fields import incorrectly. I did load the file into ADIF Master and checked the My City and My Cnty for the correct info and confirmed they are correct for FM29 QTH but when I import the ADIF the city and county still show up wrong. I have several thousand contacts and so cant go in and edit each manually. I could remove all the FM29's and reload them if there was a way to get the correct city and county into QRZ? Or guess I could delete the entire logbook and start again with two logbooks one for each location, if that would work. Or I could delete the entire logbook and try loading from LOTW where I have everything and see what comes over. Would be great if QRZ logbook just had a feature to do a search and replace like ADIF Master or the select file and overwrite function in MacLoggerDX or the select and edit abiltiy in ACLog. Any thoughts or ideas on how to go about getting the correct info into QRZ would be welcomed. Thanks WB2RRF
