Hi, I am trying to put the Hamqsl - solar banner on my (SM1HEV) bio page - works fine, but I cannot prevent the browser from caching it so when returning to the page the image will not be updated. It works fine for people visiting the site for the first time, but not for returning vistors. Looked at some fixes with time stamps but ?php seems to be blocked. Any ideas ?
Hi Bill, unfortunately it doesn't - you have exactly the same problem as I have. Reloding (or coming back to) your page after 1 hour still shows the 1 hour old banner on both my Explorer and Chrome browsers. Looks nice, but the content is literary "yesterdays news" The browsers "think" they have the image already in their cache and therefore the browsers do not fetch a fresh, updated copy. So for one-time visitors it works fine.... 73/Jens
Well, ”my browsers” (chrome, IE, safari) represent an 80% market share in the world, if the website doesn’t work for neither of these, I think the website has a problem, not the browsers.
