    I concur. There is worldwide propagation on 40 meters nearly every day. And this time of year the JAs and other Pacific signals come through on the long path. In a single two hour session a few weekends back I worked 105 DX stations on 5 different continents on SSB.

    It was just normal 40 meter radio wave propagation conditions, nothing special was happening concerning the aurora. Usually 40 meter RF signals will if anything experience absorption when traversing polar regions at the E layer altitude which coincides with the altitude of visible aurora.
