    We really want 4m!

How long before someone comes up with a 50/70/144/430/1260 HT for the EU market?

Might tax the minds of the antenna designers somewhat. You could always modify a brolly to be a discone.

    how about the 900mhz band

The 900mhz band is being forgotten but in some parts still very active.. I wish they make at least one 900mhz for the ham band.. Many other radios like Motorola make the radio for the 900mhz but then you have to program them or modify them.

    :)

    safe?

Somebody (responsible) needs to check that toy to see how much the user will be frying his brain at 1.2gig. Or, maybe we can use it to hard boil eggs on camping trips. (This may be why some of our members have been seen in Reynolds' Aluminum hats?)

Full duplex is quite handy for operating the FM satellites. I'm glad they included it.

    No US Info Available -Yet

This is the model that will be intro'd at Dayton. No pricing nor specs for the US model yet. Not anticipated to go into production for the US until June, 2009.

Will it be TRUE "full-duplex" - so we can monitor "Band B" while transmitting on "Band A?" We're not sure yet!

Many HTs are marketed as "full duplex" when what they truly mean is "dual-receive with independent VFOs."

There are no specs available yet for the US model.

The Japanese version is 5W on 2M, 4.5W on 440, and 1W TX on 1.2gHz.

I would be more interested in it if they had included 900mhz instead of 1200,
I think that maybe it would be more of a hit especially since the only radios I know of for the 900 band are the commercial ones that need a dealer to program them.

    just my 2 cents worth
