Recently NV4X began operating WSPR during the daytime. NV4X has been consistently decoded GW during the daylight hours by N8GA at 134mi. Based on the NV4X results I gave it a try and AA8SH WSPR was also decoded by N8GA GW at 140 mi.

The N8GA receiver was set up about a month ago by the Flatfoot Contest Group near Urbana OH EN80ee. Per John N8UR, "The station consists of two KiwiSDR receivers fed by a Clifton Labs Z1501 voltage probe antenna mounted about 6 feet above the ground, with a vertical whip about 5 feet long. The Kiwis feed a WSPRdaemon system that extracts the beacon reports and sends them to wsprnet. We haven't gotten rid of *all* the noise sources yet, but the location is very rural and when we are not using it for VHF contests we have almost everything running on linear power supplies and all monitors, etc. turned off to minimize the local RFI. When it gets towards winter, we may put out a loop-on-ground antenna to see if that improves the VLF/LF performance."

Thanks to the fellows at N8GA for the job well done. This RX definitely works on 630m. More on this as it develops.

It's great you guys are spending all this time to evaluate things.

But ask any old time pilot how will and how far the old NBS and ADFs low frequency units worked. That was figured out about 70 years ago.
There's also many listeners over the years who can tell you the distances that they recorded. Also there are still NDBs still on the air near the amateur bands.

K0UO, TNX and OK ON ALL.
The fellows taking part in GWEN have their own motives for doing so. I won't speak for them, but in my opinion we're evaluating more than simply 630m GW propagation. We're evaluating what the typical ham can do with 630 GW propagation from a typical ham station in various environments, urban, suburban, rural etc. We're evaluating the level of possible participation, while at the same time encouraging that same participation. To that end, I again remind everyone that it's easy to get started with 630m GW. You need only a couple of like minded neighbors. You don't need a dream station. Just get something on the air, sign into Slack #khz and join us each weekend to compare notes. The rest will follow.
