Not true! I am just across the mountains from NC, and have worked five of the stations on a meager antenna. Some have been on 20M, but most on 80M.
I'm only a Tech, so I only have 10m for voice. I haven't heard even 1 station in NY for almost 3 months!
I'm a new HF operator and having a blast with this activity. Made these contacts over the past few days. W2P - Partridge in a Pear Tree W2T - Two Turtle Doves W2F - Three French Hens W2R - Five Golden Rings W2G - Six Geese a Laying W2M - Eight Maids a Milking W2L - Nine Ladies Dancing Hoping I get the opportunity to find the remaining 5 for a clean sweep.
I haven't been keeping an eye on that band, since I don't have the capability for it right now, but you can watch where they are at on DXWATCH.com. Hope that helps!
Can you please get one of them to operate on 10m? I really want to get them, but I'm only a Technician. By the time I have my General, they'll all be gone! Can you please get them to operate on a frequency that a Technician licensee can operate on?
I recently got got my General and W2M is my very first Phone contact. That makes getting a certificate very important to me. W2M's QRZ page says a link to get the certificate is on K2RYD's QRZ page, but I see no link there. Can someone tell me what I need to do to get this certificate? Thanks
