    That's all well and good, but think about the millions who can't because they run low power. If the conditions are good low power is fine....but when conditions are not so good then power helps....Run what you want to run up to legal limit, but IMO, its much easier to dx when you up the power a bit and add a good antenna.

    Fully agree, the power limitations in VK are a big problem for any serious DXer or contest operator.

    There are limitations to how much you can build-up/optimise your antennas, there are height restrictions, and when you end up at the 15,000km far end of a pile up on a rare DX, you have a next-to-zero chance of working the new one.

    3 or 4 dB makes a huge difference to a noise-level signal.

    zl ham crams after consultation with many hams and seeing the explosion in gisborne some success has been achieved with the help of zl1ri and eit and the required conditions are almost complete but we can announce that the whakatane "Ham Cram weekend "will be on the 2nd/ 3rd of december cost has not yet been establish but will be very reasonable price , we are still looking for sponsors and trying to get prizes for the passing attendees zl1tkl Don
