I think the key is that it won't Rx in SSB. But you can use the main reciever to Rx SSB, and use the secondary VFO to Tx in SSB.

But the TS2000 can absolutely Rx and Tx SSB in full duplex.

On the TS2000, the secret is to hit the SATL button, which automatically sets up for example USB TX on the A side, main QRG, and LSB RX on the B, sub QRG.

KG5WKIO did first bird. 2m up/440 down report my TX side of things was OK at or near Max elevation on pass but was quickly became garbled both sides of that point. Using FT60R as all I own. Set center freq and either side 5kh off that. Too much too little? Bird should have given me solid 6 minutes but 3 about it but first contact is first contact.

Sounds like SO-50 ... which is a little "fincky" to work. The wonderfully stronger 2M downlink of AO-91 will be easier to work.

Freq chart at www.work-sat.com is being used successfully ... GOOD JOB! You are nopw hooked ... (g)
