From these lines, and to all friends we announce the sad news, the death of our President, Mr. Manel Dotu Pascual EA3EJA.(S.K)


The one to mount the new station on the Radio school of the Catalonian Blind & Handicapped Ham Radio Operators National Society, of Organización Nacional de Ciegos de España, rendering it almost finished.


The main ideologist and chief architect of many activities such as:

The firts Ham Radio Charity Marathon to benefit La Marató de TV3, Papiol Baronia Castle, La Sagrada Família Speak to World ARMIC 30 Anniversary 30 Activities, Catalonia Parliament activation, Ham Radio arrives to Accesible Pedrera, and a long list of them, never done before.


Someone loved wherever he went, for whom his blindness was never any hindrance, to develop his passion for radio and computer, one of the pioneers of the country in digital communications and one of the forerunners of the tiflotechnology and generalization is among the amateurs, being the first blind people to use a computer even without adapting and without any speaker, when even the windows was something more than fantasy, which not only never bragged, but on the contrary always fled addition to a firm and resounding to this, or any aspect of their impressive while bright, endless life, we will report any recognition, or the slightest prominence, popularity, or role, always wanting to stay in anonymous condition.


The fact that substantial savings and even got multiple locations and provide electrical power supply free of charge to various repeaters of URE in its heyday, who despite being totally blind from an early age, spared no efforts in learning CW, then a mandatory for guidance, solely to teach dozens of friends and colleagues, one by one were approved without exception.


Since 1983 which involved much more directly and intensely with the ARMIC Radio School first partner as well as a collaborator, and participating in founding it in 1979, even just out of hospital, almost single-handedly organized, something never seen at that time, the presence of Amateur Radio in SONIMAG among other prominent events.


Awards made with the various councils of Sants and Les Corts districts in Barcelona city, was one of his greatest achievements involving tightly and continued to politicians of the city of Barcelona in amateur radio.


Many did not get to meet him in person, everything and its activity but lately this is not focused on the microphone or the manipulator blades, it nevertheless "Ese Joven Apuesto” as he was called mainly on VHF & UHF nets, or "3 Enanitos Jugando Ajedrez” was less known and loved above all and having to contend with many problems and obstacles, which always knew overcome.


In it, in person, some had someone, even recently, to turn to when we came any problem with any antenna or electronic circuit, helped with his brilliant memory, and a remarkable generosity and hard to match , poured into a vocation for help anyone who needed it without any exception.We had like a second father, a brother ....


EA3EJA, it leaves us a legacy in ARMIC, and not only on spanish amateur Radio, with a ribbon at least, but it's hard to beat, more than difficult to overcome, only maybe equaled by very few.Also giving us a unique lesson in love, expertise, generosity, achievement, and greater still if possible, as of today appointed a very little while in this society, humility, modesty and dignity.

Apart from their past accomplishments to publicize amateur radio between society, several activities, which turned all the enthusiasm of his later years so that these were true, and that even without it, taking place in various parts of the country, and outside it.

The next and previous closest to perhaps one of the insurance acts enter the history of Spanish ham radio, which will take place shortly after this September, the activity will be held next September 18th on the Cathedral Basilica of Barcelona.


Undoubtedly, no one exaggerates the least, saying EA3EJA was and will for immutable order, and among many others, a person and a president of an association of radio amateurs never equaled.

My condolences

It sounds like I am the one of many who missed out on meeting such a great benefactor of the science. Can you tell me the band and frequency that will be used on Sept 18th?

Thanks for your words and apologize for the delay in response, many emails, fax, telegrams and received condolence calls

The work station 10 to 40 meters, with special attention on the 14MHz band, and 7Mhz for national traffic.

Arrangements for SSB, CW, and efforts will be made in order to be on air in digital modes. (But we can not guarantee the latter)

Three great operators, EA3ALV, EA3CC and EA3JL

A second station will be on air in local VHF.

The callsign to use, in honor of the President (rip) will ED3EJA.

Upcoming report of the frequency table to use.

Of course you can disseminate this information to whoever you believe is of interest, by any means it deems appropriate.
