Oh how I WISH I needed less sleep. These days at 57, I have to drag my butt out of bed. Even going to bed at 10 PM with no electronics and no caffeine doesn't do the trick....it's a fight to get out of bed by 8 AM for the first Zoom call. Back in 2017, it was in bed at 9:30 and up at 5 without the alarm to walk the dogs. Oh how I miss those days.
they start at 0630 because they are too lazy to get up. i went to one at manchaca, texas that started at 0400. we were on the road at 0200 and stopped for b'fast at 0300. ya snooze, ya lose.
I don't mind the early start I just miss most hamfest because they are Sunday only and I go to church. I know my choice but I still don't get why so many are on Sundays. Many of the place I have worked at pay double for working Sundays so most people that want to work overtime work on Sundays as well
Speak for yourself The older I get, the more sleep I need! (must be something to do with the 40 years of getting up at 04:00 to get to work in time for a 6:00 shift start!)
I worked on permanent night's for years & am now looking after my parents after early retirement. Geriatric sleeping pattern is very predictable, Prepare meal .. asleep Serve meal ...... awake Wash up ........... asleep Cup of tea ......... awake Knock at door.. asleep
I spent 2 years caring for my father who was terminally ill. He was most 'active' during the night, so I got very little sleep! Don't regret any of it, and now I am life-challenged, I hope someone will do the same for me!
I love my parents to bits & don't mind at all. They had a lot to contend with when I was young. I live approximately 150 yards from them, So on call 24/7
Sorry! Total brain fade...I realised of course that Jeopardy was the (late) Alex Trebek - has anyone taken over the show (don't get to see it over here, and I doubt I will be able to get stateside anytime soon)?
I used to LOVE working nightshift! Only 4 nights (10 hour shifts) and a long weekend....those were the days!
