The West Palm Beach Amateur Radio Group will celebrate its 85th Anniversary with an open house and special event station to mark the occasion.

The club will hold an open house at the Cox Science Center, 4801 Dreher Trail N, West Palm Beach, FL on Saturday, April 27th from 10AM until 2PM.

The public is invited to attend. And a special thanks to the Cox Science Center for their support.

A highlight of the event will be a special event station using the club amateur radio callsign W4HAW and the day will also feature an overview of amateur radio and the benefits that the amateur radio activity has to its members and the community at large. There will be emphasis on hurricane preparedness. We will have guests from the National Weather Service, Palm Beach County, The American Red Cross and others who will share information on how to stay safe during a hurricane,

The West Palm Beach club has a history of public service and now has nearly one hundred members from across the local area. Meetings are held monthly on the fourth Wednesday at the Cox Science Center, 4801 Dreher Trail N, West Palm Beach, FL at 7 PM. New members are always welcome to attend and join.

The club’s event will also be part of the annual Florida QSO Party that day so look for the club’s callsign on multiple bands and modes in the pileups.
