    Warren B. Offutt passed away peacefully on September 20, 2017, in the presence of his family at his home, Starview, in the beautiful Cloudcroft mountains that he so loved.

    Warren was predeceased by his parents Emily (Prochaska) Offutt and William Bernard Offutt, his beloved Beverly (Rheaume) Offutt and Elizabeth (Luttrell) Offutt, his son-in-law Robert Hiestand, and his grandson Joseph Offutt.

    Warren is survived by his brothers William Offutt and his wife Nancy of Colorado Springs, CO and John Offutt and his wife Elizabeth of Bethesda, MD.

    His 10 children:
    Catherine Offutt and spouse Robert Laakkonen of Royalston, MA
    Teresa Hiestand of Meridian, ID
    Constance Wolff and spouse James Wolff of Kennesaw, GA
    Peter Offutt and spouse Lisa Hall Offutt of Mossville, IL
    Matthew Offutt and spouse Aira Dagdag Offutt of San Jose, CA
    Margaret Rudd and spouse Robert Rudd of Wheaton, IL
    Gregory Offutt and spouse Linda Lundin Offutt of Bakersfield, CA
    Christopher Offutt and spouse Tracy Dati of Oconomowoc, WI
    David Offutt and spouse Mindy Dyer Offutt of West Chicago, IL
    Douglas Offutt and spouse Jennifer Snook Offutt of Batavia, IL

    His 25 grandchildren:
    Molly, Zlatca, Katia and RuSheng, Elizabeth, Benjamin, and Sarah, William and John, Adriana and Julia, Carl, Philip, Emily, Marie and Lydia, Vanessa and Anne, Marguerite, Nina and Michael, Hayley and Danielle, Nicholas and Natalie.

    His 19 great-grandchildren:
    Giacomo and Maximus, Emmalyn, Marienne, Colin and Harrison, Cora and Eleanor, George and Oliver, Elijah and Quinn, Alaina, Maleah, Ian, Everly and Julian, Easton and Walker.

    Warren was born February 13, 1928, in Brooklyn, NY. He graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School. He received his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from Union College in Schenectady, NY and an honorary PhD from Milwaukee School of Engineering in 1987. He was a lifelong ham radio operator and accomplished amateur astronomer. Warren (AF9Q) and Beverly (N9JVN) retired to the Cloudcroft, NM mountains to pursue their joint interest in the skies and enjoyed many years of astronomy research together. Warren and Beverly were deeply grateful to be welcomed and embraced by their Sacred Heart Mission and Piney Woods communities.

    A passionate learner and student, Warren's brilliant mind, kind and generous soul, wise and thoughtful counsel, and wry wit and humor are deeply missed by his family.

    In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Sacred Heart Mission Catholic Church, PO Box 236, La Luz, NM 88337.

    A celebration Rosary and Mass will be at the Sacred Heart Mission in Cloudcroft, NM on Friday, October 13, 2017. Rosary at 10:30 a.m. and Mass at 11:00 a.m.
