William Edward Fanckboner (W9INN), age 80, of Mt. Prospect, IL died Friday, July 30 at Evanston hospital, and resided in Mt. Prospect for 48 years.

He graduated from New Trier High School in 1942 and was an aviation radioman in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII stationed in San Diego, CA. He got his pilot's license and enjoyed flying for many years. After working at Motorola and 10 years in the silo industry, his talent for radio turned into W9INN Antennas, a 30 year business, for which he designed and built custom antennas by hand. He worked full time until a week prior to his death. He also met his wife Suzanne over the radio in 1949. His youthful spirit, sense of humor and kindness will be missed by his many friends and family.

Memorial service Monday, August 9, 11 a.m., First United Methodist Church, 1903 E. Euclid Ave., Arlington Heights, IL.
William's nephews, the Reverends Robert and William Niles officiating. Visitation following.
