Ernie was my Elmer and my friend since 1956 when he was W4ZZC and I was KN4JEX. He was responsible for bringing dozens of folks into ham radio. Ernie was the technology leader in our little part of the ham world. He was the first to have SSB, build an amplifier, run phone patches, have 6 meters, 2 meters, 440, get on 160, get DXCC, have packet, and, well, you get the idea. My sincere condolences got to his family, and my sincere thanks for a lifetime of good friendship and hamming - RIP W4WH ... _._
