The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home on Wednesday, Jan. 11th from 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Doug Cochran will officiate. Born on March 15, 1940, in Hall County, he was the son of the late Windom Lee and Edna Scofield West Sr. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother, Windom L. West Jr. Mr. West was past president of Fraternal Order of Police, a member of American Association of State Troopers, member of POAG, a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, a member of the Masonic Caledonia Lodge No. 121 F&AM Cedartown, Ga., a member of the American Legion and an Air Force veteran. Mr. West was retired from the State Patrol after 29 years of service past assistant post commander of post 6, Gainesville, Ga. Mr. West is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary Ann Nix West of Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Savanna West of Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law, Kelley and Sheldon Foote of Gainesville; grandchildren, Blake and Sadie Foote, Austin and Cheyenne West and Daniel, Nicholas and Benjamin Cloud; four great-grandsons; nieces, Kathy Head and Jackie Hefner; three great-nephews; two great-nieces; six great-great-nieces and nephews; and special friends, Steve and Syndi Eldred and Reata Belle McGee. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Ronnie Green Heart Center, Coronary Care Unit, 743 Spring St., Gainesville, GA 30501.
