    Obituary for John Ray Pitcock
    John Ray Pitcock, 81, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2019.
    He was born on December 12, 1937 in Barren County, Kentucky, to the late Elzie Ray and Frankie Pitcock.
    John worked for many years in the manufacturing industry, as a teacher in adult vocational education, and was an alumnus of the University of Louisville School of Business. He had many interests and enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including ham radio, photography, music, calligraphy, genealogy, wood and metal working, and travel.
    He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Judy; children: Dr. Janet Forbes (Phil) and Dr. Susan Janocik (Michael); 4 grandchildren: Ben (Kate), Tyler, Gloria, and Victoria; and a great-grandson (John) due in August; siblings: Jane Smith (Bob), Ethel White (George), Suzanne Schott, and Richard Pitcock (Donna); and many other family members and friends.
    Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2019, from 2 pm – 8 pm at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home, 10600 Taylorsville Road, Louisville, Kentucky. A memorial service will be held at Cave Hill Cemetery Monday, July 8, 2019 at 11 am. Family and friends can meet at the Broadway Gate.
    In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Hosparus, or your favorite charity.
