Slim Jim is a great antenna for VHF operations, It has quite wide bandwidth and has a low RF take off angle. It has and gain as much as 6 dbi (better than the J-Pole antenna). I have been using one for a few years, never had any problems. I always receive good reports from local hams. In this video I'm sharing how I made my Slim Jim Antenna.
