    The USS Midway aircraft carrier (CV-41) museum ship (NI6IW) in San Diego CA will be conducting a Special Event this Saturday 14 MAY 2022 participating in the Annual Armed Forces Day (AFD) Crossband Test as well as commemorating the Battle of Coral Sea 4 to 8 May 1942. For the AFD test we will be operating from 0000Z to 0600Z and from 1400Z to 2400Z on 14 May (ZULU) as NIIW, the ship’s former international callsign. We will be transmitting on the following military HF frequencies using USB (option for RTTY and CW): 4,003.5 kHz, 5,403.5 kHz, 7,357.0 kHz, 14,383.5 kHz and 18,293.0 kHz. As part of our CQ calls, we will be announcing the Amateur radio frequencies we will be receiving on. For the Special Event, we will also be operating from 1600Z to 2400Z on D-STAR via various Papa system repeaters as well as VHF analog voice (FM).
