Yes, another fine bit of journalism from Ted Turner's version of the world. How exactly did we measure the thermosphere 43 years ago? It does not say. We had just barely begun exploring outer space.

 

Anything to help further their "increasing carbon dioxide" and "global warming" alarmism.

Can we really regard this information as being relevant to amateur radio activities, or even broadcasting activities ? I think not. This is information which is regularly issued by NASA and available to the press world wide and which fills empty spaces in newspapers.

Are the common herd, drinking ale in pubs the length and breadth of the land going to be standing, or perhaps sitting with furrowed brows discussing the current state of the thermosphere and its apparent shrinkage. Ha ha ha
Now if its about Manchester United's last match, that as we say, is a different ball game.
