Greetings winter ops, it's getting cold out there! Back by popular demand for the second year, it's the QRZ Winter OPS Award, 12 Days of QRZ Starting on December 1, 2023, the award will be for making winter contacts on at least 12 days this winter. The eligibility period runs from December 1, 2023, through February 28, 2024. Just log confirmed contacts during 12 of those days, and you will earn this handsome award for your shack: We can't wait to see how many of you qualify! Happy Holidays from QRZ -Jaime Jeffries, KF7WIS CEO, QRZ.com
If you can't make 12 contacts in 3 months.... -Make sure your radio is plugged in. -Make sure the unit is turned on. -Make sure the antenna is plugged in. -Make sure your keying the mic(or working Cw, FT-8 properly) when speaking. JUST KIDDING! Have a Great HAM Radio Holiday Season Everyone.. 73's to All and to All a 5x9 !
I generally only work QSO party weekends and some other events and contests. Since the ones I usually work are sparse in the winter, I'll have to remember to be more active.
Happy Holidays, Jaime. If you completed this award last year and do it again this year do you earn an endorsement or something? Just wondering.
Back by popular demand for the second year, it's the QRZ Winter OPS Award, 12 Days of QRZ What happens if you get the award again does it update last years award to 2023 or does it show two identical awards? I do not fancy having the same award up as a repeat. QRZ should have made it a different colour for this year perhaps a red santa on his sleigh instead. 73 have a good christmas.
Hello: Great news I hope we see each other on the bands another year. I will try to be active preferably on PSK and FT8 these days. 73 by Miguel. EB3EIL
I'm trying to get the 12 in the first 12 days of December, just to make things more challenging for myself. 73 everyone and good luck
I will be on POTA activating parks in Florida so look for me on the bands and get The 12 Days Of Christmas Award while it's cold up north. Merry Christmas and Happy New Years To all!!
I was going to say...seems like every time I'm in the shack I hear at least one POTA activation calling CQ, so it should be a fairly simple process to collect ONE confirmed contact per day of radio use. POTA operators are always very quick in getting their logs submitted. Rules say nothing about how long a contact needs to be...only that it's confirmed. I also agree with 2EOLVG that it would be nice if this year's award "certificate" had different artwork than last years.
