State QSO Parties Mobile Ops--what is your rig and antenna setup?

Hi all:

I really enjoy operating mobile in state QSO parties. Originally, my rig was an IC-706, later replaced by an IC-706 MKIIG. I used the MKIIG in several FL and a few GA QSO Parties with oh-hum results operating SSB QRP only. After corresponding with other mobile participants, I tried my IC-756 Pro II and had significantly better results. I pretty much was limited to 20 meters with a Hustler antenna.

Now, after almost a decade away from this enjoyable activity I want to return.

So what rig and antenna are you using for mobile contests? Please share any relevant thoughts or experiences.

I use a FT-857D with the ATAS-120 antenna, It works just fine and I have not had any real problems with it to speak of. Last night I worked some one in the Black Hills of South Dakota
a friend of mine say a wet noodle well work if the conditions are right...JUst got to make noise
