Special Event Station W7R

On the weekend of August 29/30 the Jefferson County and Port Ludlow Amatuer Radio Clubs will operate a Special Event Station at the old radio building at Fort Worden State Park in Port Townsend, WA commemorating 100 anniversary the first transmission from Fort Worden to the Philippines as part of the original army Alaska Net.

The Original transmitter was a spark gap Transmitter, which is no longer available for operation. the station will be operating on Phone, CW, RTTY and PSK31.

The two amateur radio clubs of Jefferson County Washington, have jointly sponsored the special event station W7R for the weekend of Aug 29/30. The Port Ludlow ARC (N7PL) and Jefferson County ARC (W7JCR) provide information about this station.
