Frederick J. McCollor, 70, of Waterville died Dec. 15, 2010, at Oak Grove Center, a two-year survivor of lung cancer and brain tumors, passing because of complications from a stroke. He was born Feb. 24, 1940 in Crisfield, Md., to Roy A. and Idella Howard McCollor. He served in the Air Force from 1959 to 1963. Fred worked for the state of Maine for 28 years and was an avid amateur radio enthusiast. His call sign was K1DAP. He also loved to ride his motorcycle. He is survived by his wife, Patricia A. McCollor; a sister, Mary Jane Baker; son Frederick J. "John" McCollor Jr.; daughter Cheryl Stanton; grandchildren Danielle Poulin, Christopher Stanton and Shelby Stanton; and two nieces, Debbie Baker and Lynn Bickford.
