We're again planning to operate the special event stations K3A, K3R, and K3S on the air from August 26th through September 4th, 2022 for your chance to receive the 2022 Amateur Radio Software Award QSL cards.
The whole Amateur Radio Emergency Data Network team @ arednmesh.org! They've developed software that lets hams deploy IP networks capable of moving data quickly and reliably!
Currently my favourite is qdmr: way better than codeplug software from original mfgs. * you can interchange codeplugs between different radios * you can batch edit codeplugs by directly editing the save-file (YAML) * works out-of-the-box on Linux (no need for Wine or Virtual Machine (with Windows XP (the horror)))
I think DxLabs is not open source. It is freeware. So, got the F but not the OSS, in FOSS. It's a great product, though.
No, not open source. It is hundreds of thousands of LOC for sure so probably a good thing it is not open. On the other hand, I hope there is a backup coder team. Maybe not, he has a full time plus job with the support. I did not realize OS was a requirement here.
I would recommend Pat, the open-source Winlink. I have used it with internet, and mobilinkd radio, works well. https://howtotrainyourrobot.com/pat-winlink-ft70-and-handheld-mobilinkd-tnc/
? Not sure where you got that, I don't think underlying OS is a consideration. Example, let me nominate gpredict. Great functions, FOSS software, runs on all desktop OSes.
I like gpredict as well. Honorable mention to "GNU Radio Companion". It has taught me quite a bit about different modes, etc. I have learned a great deal using it. Not a strictly ham radio program but very useful.
