I had the opportunity to listen to the live program with my 5 year old grandson. He was quite happy to listen to his little seniors talking to astronaut at International Space Station!

About 14 odd years they did an ARISS contact in Perth [relaying through a station in Hawaii] but it was done outdoors in a little amphitheatre in the CBD with quite a big turnout of the public. I can clearly recall the gasps from everyone in the audience when the station answered the call. When I tell friends etc that you can talk through the ISS and if you are lucky, chat with an astronaut with the little handheld and a small antenna, they are amazed.
