Speaking of scams...  I've been watching IC-2100 prices on eBay [got a friend studying for his license], and there was a recent listing from a new zero-feedback seller.  The radio sold to some sucker for over $220.  Immediately after the end of the auction, the seller was suddenly "no longer a registered member."  Took the money and ran...?
