Pittsford - March 21, 2021 at the age 94. Ron died peacefully after time spent in hospice care with family by his side. He is survived by his loving daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy Nelson (Jerry Lee) and Vicki Fess (Bob). He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 62 years, Lyn.

Ron was born in Washington, D.C. and later relocated to Short Hills, NJ. He served in the US Army during WWII as a Medic at the 98th General Hospital in Munich, Germany. Following his military service, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree at Park University in Parkville, Missouri. Ron's career was in the pharmaceutical field; he began as a research pharmacologist then moved into sales and marketing and eventually retired from Hoffman LaRoche Pharmaceuticals.

Ron was actively involved in the Pittsford Community, serving for many years as the Chairman of Poll Inspectors and volunteering at the Walnut Hill Carriage Driving Competition. His passion for playing tennis at Midtown Tennis Club continued until he was 89 years old. He was a ham radio operator for most of his life with call numbers KA2GLG. He donated equipment and volunteered his time at the Antique Wireless Museum in Bloomfield, NY.

As a resident of the Highlands of Pittsford for the past 10 years, he was able to forge new friendships with many special people. He was quick with a joke and laugh for anyone he met in the course of his day. He served on several Highlands committees, participated in the Highlands Fashion shows and a couple during Rochester Fashion Week. Ron enjoyed keeping the Club Room organized, and had fun discussing current events with the fellow residents. He was known for putting on his Tux and dancing with his wife and other ladies at numerous Highlands social events.

As a family, we are deeply appreciative for the many years of excellent health care provided by Gene Zito, MD. We would also like to thank the staff at the Hildebrandt Hospice for the heartfelt care and respect they provided to Ron during his final days with us.

Due to Covid, services will be private. In lieu of flowers, friends may wish to contribute to Hildebrandt Hospice or Lollypop Farm. To share a memory of Ron or to send a condolence to the family visit www.anthonychapels.com
