    Greetings,

    I just learned that Chief Radioman (Surface Warfare) Edward J. Fauss, III, U.S. Navy (WD5HPN) from Oklahoma passed away in October 2001 (1950 - 2001).

    I served under Chief Fauss from 1986 until my discharge from active duty in 1988 on board the USS Iwo Jima (LPH-2) in Technical Control. Chief Fauss was one hell of a Navy Radioman, mentor, CW operator, Technical Controller, and friend.

    He is greatly missed.
