RASA review VK 30m band plan RASA (Radio Amateur Society of Australia) has initiated a review of the Australian 30m band plan. Australia is one of the only countries that permits SSB operation on 30m. The existing band plan has SSB operation between 10125-10135 kHz, whilst digital uses 10130-10150 kHz. This overlap is causing QRM between SSB and digital operators, particularly for the most popular digital mode, FT8 – which uses 10136 kHz. It is proposed to shift SSB operation down 5 kHz: 10120-130 kHz – this alleviates the QRM whilst still leaving sufficient space for CW operation. Feedback has been uniformly positive to date. Comments can be sent to info@vkradioamateurs.org RASA have written to the Wireless Institute of Australia to ensure a joint approach to the review. http://www.southgatearc.org/news/2019/june/rasa-review-vk-30m-band-plan.htm
I think that the entire 30m band (all 50khz) should remain Digital & CW only, Worldwide. What's next? contest operating on 30m? - JMHO
