We are pleased to announce that the North Okanagan Radio Amateur Club and the Orchard City Amateur Radio Club will be hosting the second ever Radio Amateurs of Canada (RAC) 2002 National Convention in Vernon, British Columbia on July 26,27,and 28, 2002.

RAC is Canada's equivelent of ARRL.

Vernon, B.C. is less than a 6 hour drive from Spokane (Wash), Calgary (Alberta), and Vancouver (B.C.).
The sunny Okanagan Valley provides a great place for a holiday and the high American dollar makes visiting Canada quite appealing.

Our Keynote speaker is Arnie Coro (CO2KK) the host of Radio Havana. We will also have David Cameron (VE7LTD) the founder of IRLP giving a seminar as well as many others. Topics of interest will include DXing, APRS, Repeater Linking, IRLP, Packet, Contesting, CW, IPARN and many more.

The Kenwood Communications company is our proud major sponsor and many commercial vendors will be on hand showing off there latest and greatest gear.

There will be a used equipment swap meet and a vintage radio show area also.

Non ham events and tours are also being planned for the non hams in the family.

For more information please visit the RAC2002 website:

    Thank You!
    Matt Lee (VE7MLX).
    RAC 2002 Director.
