QRP on Safari--Botswana Ops Planned!

W6DXO is pleased to announce that he will be QRV from 2 Safari camps in Botswana from Sept. 19 through Sept. 28, 2001 operating with assigned call A25/KG6GPA. Possible Z2 (Zimbabwe) Ops to follow if licensing issues can be addressed in time...




Very primative operating conditions will mandate battery powered QRP operations as AC power in not readily available in camp.



Equipment will consist of a Yaesu FT-817, multiple hi-capacity gel cells and a portable 20M dipole. Operations will be a often as propagation and camp schedules allow, and will concentrate on SSB 'phone Ops. All QRP stations are encouraged to listen for A25/KG6GPA as an effort will be made to work as many QRP contacts as is possible.
