CQ NEWS (Press Release, dated October 26th). STAN BROADWAY, N8BHL, NAMED

Editor Rich Moseson, W2VU, announced today. The post has been vacant for
    several months.

JX0X JAN MAYEN ISLAND DXPEDITION NEWS (CANCELLED). "It is with a heavy
heart that we for various reasons hereby cancel the JX0X Dxped. While we
worked hard for 18 months to secure the entry permit, the permit to stay
onshore, the fundraising and the logistics – we have come to the conclusion
that there are too many uncertainties involved in this project. There is
not a single reason that we cancel but rather several reasons right up
to today that altogether makes this a difficult project to complete. We
would like to thank everybody who donated upfront to the JX0X DXpedition,
and who believed in our team and our project. You all made a contribution
to have the opportunity to work us guys next year, and you all made a
difference no matter what you donated. It is people like you who donated
upfront that makes DXing happen. Without upfront donations we will see
less tent and generator DXpeditions to expensive places. We will start
refunding 100% all paypal donations, and you should see your support
returned soon..... Thanks! 73 JX0X team

QSL STATUS FOR HK3W. Siso, HK3W, informs OPDX of the following [edited]:
"After eight months without being able to answer QSL cards, on October
27th around 200 cards that were requested to me directly will be sent
via US Postal Service. I will ship more on November 23rd.
We all know that due to the COVID-19 situation, physical mail is
delayed around the world, if you need my QSL I recommend using the
ClubLog's OQRS service, you will get my card faster.
I made the decision not to send my QSLs again through any Bureau
service such as the ARRL or the URE.
I will only upload my QSOs to the LoTW system and to the Clublog,
I do not use the systems like eQSL or QRZ to confirm QSOs.
Please tell me when you receive my QSL via e-mail or Twitter."

STANDARD TIME. Did you remember to change your clocks? Countries who
observe Daylight Saving Time (DST), which took place on Sunday, March
10th, are now expected to move their "local clocks" backward 1 hour on
Sunday, November 1st, from 2:00 AM local time to 1:00 AM. In 2021, Day-
light Saving Time (DST) will again go into effect on Sunday, March 14th,
at 2:00 AM local time. For the history and details about ST and DST, as
well as an interesting map of the world (showing the countries who observe
    DST), see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standard_time
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daylight_saving_time
    http://www.timeanddate.com/time/dst/2021.html
    https://www.timeanddate.com/time/change/usa?year=2021
ADDED NOTE: Hopefully, all amateur radio operators know NOT to change
their GMT/UTC/ZULU clocks. However, since most operators usually set their
computers to local time, some may have to change their settings on "some"
ham radio software (ex. logging, propagation, DXTelnet, etc..) programs.

Four special awards will be available to amateurs and SWLs (Bronze,
Silver, Gold, Platium). QSL all callsigns via LoTW, eQSL, ClubLog's
OQRS or direct via SV2GWY. For more details, see QRZ.com.

VE2, CANADA (Zone 2). Operator Yuri, VE3DZ, will once again be active as
VE2IM from Sept-Iles, QC (Zone 2), during the CQWW DX CW Contest (November
    28-29th) as a Single-Op/All-Band/High-Power or Low-Power entry. Again,
Yuri states his operation is subject to travel and COVID-19 restrictions.
Activity (usually) before and after the contest will be on CW, SSB and
RTTY, and all HF bands including the 30/17/12 meter bands. QSL via VE3DZ,
direct or by the VE3DZ OQRS. He usually uploads to the LoTW.

VP5, TURKS AND CAICOS. Jim, K4QPL, will once again be active as VP5M from
Providenciales Island (NA-002) during the CQWW DX CW Contest (November
28-29th) as a Single-Op/All-Band entry. QSL via K4QPL or LoTW. PLEASE,
NO BUREAU QSLS. Outside of the contest, he will sign as VP5/K4QPL.

VP8, ANTARCTICA. According to the Worldwide Antarctic Program (WAP) Web
page and other sources, Sebastian, SQ1SGB, will once again be active from
Halley VI British Antarctic Research Station (WAP GBR-40). He will be
sailing there sometime in December, and he hopes to be active for 5 weeks
in 2021 (approx. between January 1st and February 10th was mentioned).
His callsign will be SQ1SGB/VP8 (VP8DOI or VP8HAL), but if this VP8 call-
sign is not allowed due to the new rules of the Falklands authorities,
look for Seba to use an alternative (possibly SQ1SGB/A or maybe /ANT or
/P). Activity is usually or mainly on 40/20 meters (watch 7170 kHz and
14305 kHz) each day at 0100 UTC for one hour. Sometimes he can be active
at 1000 and 1630 UTC. QSL via EB7DX.

XT, BURKINA FASO. Al, F8FUA, will once again be active as XT2BR from
Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, sometime in 2021. He usually uses an Elecraft
K3 with 100 watts into a hexbeam and dipoles, operating on CW, SSB, RTTY
and FT8 (DXpedition mode) if possible. Log will be updated when possible
depending on his Internet access. QSL direct (with SAE and 2 USDs) or via
the REF QSL Bureau. After his operation, Al usually uploads his log to
LoTW. Look for more details to be forthcoming.

YI, IRAQ. Giorgio, IU5HWS, who is a sergeant in the Italian Army of the
Airborne Brigade, has been active as YI9/IU5HWS on 20 meters SSB usually
between 0830-1200z and around 14256 kHz. A few sources are reporting that
Giorgio will continue using the callsign YI9/IU5HWS through December, but
his QRZ.com page says approx. January 20th. Also, Giorgio has requested
the callsign YI9WS from Iraq's National Communications and Media Commission
(NCMC) and is waiting for his official license. QSL via his home callsign
direct. He will begin to fill out and send the QSL cards starting in
March 2021. Watch for updates on his QRZ.com page (under YI/IU5HWS).

    Z8, SOUTH SUDAN. Sigfrido, IW9FMD (5H0RS, 7Q7RS, HB9FFN, T6AB), is once
again active as Z81S from South Sudan. The length of his stay is unknown.
He is there working with the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS)
in South Sudan). Activity will be limited to his free time, but most of
his operations has been on 15 meters SSB so far. QSL via IT9YVO direct
    only.
