Wow Jim, small world. That's a really neat story about the desk and the chapel, etc. Send me an email, I'll send you some pictures of the chapel as it looks now. I worked at PVNGS and stayed in Buckeye for several months in 1978. 73, Dennis KR3DX
It should be a lot easier to find us on the cluster now that the contest is over. There were so many contest spots, our spot would disappear within a few minutes of being posted. We'll be on the air thru Halloween night.
I have to watch this movie at least one per year. My favorite scene is when the little girl rises from the dead and kills her mother with a garden trowel. It's the audio that makes the scene, really.
Ahhh, finally get K2V in 20m just now. Had to fire up the amp, but we made the contact! Now on the hunt for K2Q...
Thanks for being out there. From a fairly new (3 years) and younger ham (38)....I really enjoy the special events and have been looking forward to working you guys.
The QSL card hasn't been designed yet, we're spending our free time operating, updates will be posted as soon as there is any new info.
The K2V and K2Q callsigns were chosen for this special event because they have a relevance to the movie, albeit in a very subtle way. I'll mail a free DX Engineering sticker (we spare no expense) to the first person who comes up with the correct answer. TAARA members and others who already know the answer please don't reveal it here.
