NewsWest for Sunday 29th May 2022, has an open theme, so anything goes. Yes that’s right, there’s no fixed theme, so there’s a collection of news and stories, tall tales and true, from the team here at NewsWest.

Among today’s stories we talk about behaviour in social media, ask who defines what an Amateur Radio contest is, we bust another myth, and ask who runs Amateur Radio in Australia, and there’s more.

At NewsWest we strive to bring you news and information relating to Amateur Radio, which is of interest or relevant to Amateurs in Western Australia, but we do have a wider audience, and during the week we received a letter from someone who lives in Scotland and is a regular NewsWest listener to our podcast, and who is looking forward to meeting us soon, in Perth - Perth VK6 that is.

Visit the vk6.net website where you'll find information on how you can hear NewsWest - on air, by download or by podcast. You can also register your callbacks and feedback about NewsWest.

NewsWest invites programme contributions. You can send yours as email attachments to newswest@vk6.net - our editorial policy is that items should be about Amateur Radio, and relating to, or of interest to, Radio amateurs in Western Australia.

Originating in Perth Western Australia, NewsWest is produced by WA Amateur Radio News for listeners on-air, on-line and on-demand.

Whichever way you're listening, whether you're a licensed radio amateur or not, experienced or just a beginner, old or young, thanks for being here and thanks for joining us.
