[IMG] Hi, all. I would like to announce that the McCurtain County Amateur Radio Club (MCARC) six meter repeater is now up and running. The frequency is 53.030 with a negative 1 Mhz offset. It will only be toned if we get interference, and the tone will be 100hz (I just keep the tone in memory anyway).

---The repeater site has an elevation of approximately 1400', and the antenna is up on the tower about 100 feet. The repeater output is 20 watts, and the club callsign is KD5YQI. More and more people have been purchasing 6 meter rigs in this area, and so far, the repeater has been heard at least 90 miles away.

---The MCARC would like to thank the following people: --Bill Johnson and OneNet (OneNet is the Oklahoma State Board of Regents communication department). They were responsible for the donation of the use of the tower. --Kerry Byassee and PSO - He used a bucket truck to attach the antenna to the tower...PSO is Public Service of Oklahoma, power provider. --N5UWT, Sonny Grams. Sonny helped us align and tune the repeater with his test equipment. Sonny is also the local Motorola dealer (Alphabet Electronics) in Broken Bow. --Johnny Tadlock, McCurtain County Sherriff. --Last but not least, KD5AQ, Ron, who is custodian of this repeater, and of course, KD5ABR, Verne, who assisted Ron a great deal. Also, a big thanks should certainly go to the members of the MCARC and everybody that donated their time and/or money, because without money and expertise, you cannot setup a great repeater. Thanks, everybody!

---So, if you are in the area, please try out our new repeater. Also, please check out our webpage. Just click on MCARC Thanks!
