The power fluctuated at the 20+ dBm level and was severely degraded by temperature variations and gradients. Would be fun to hear her voice again Possible link?
"Decommissioned 2- No Decay" Starts Friday... In the meantime, I'll look around for audio clips + report back
Tidbit- Found (K8YSE) J.Papay's Sat recording archives.. However, they only go back to 2010. No SuitSat mp3's there. Just for fun- Here is an mp3 link to a quick contact I had with K8YSE while I was working on Alaska's N.Slope in grid BQ50 on a man-made island in the Arctic Ocean. The attached pic from Sept2011 is near the same qth as the mp3 qso. The file is 13:41 mins long and contains many N.Am AO-51 Qs. Go to the end of the clip at 12:22 to hear my CQ.. The contact with K8YSE ("EN91") is at 12:47.... "BQ50" good sig at 12:55. I was using the same Kenwood TH-F6a ht and SRH320A- 14in whip antenna for the Q. Here is a compilation of some audio clips. RSØRS was challenging to receive, with deep QSB due to tumbling and QRO fluctuations. My favorite clip, from award winning Bob VE6BLD, the message transcribed is, "This is suitsat-1 amateur radio station RS0RS. Greetings to the students around the world. This is a message from [...] to americans and the united states. We share a mutual excitement about the future of space travel. The USA special word is FREEDOM".
